The 1for2 Excellence Model was not created in a boardroom.

It was built over decades inside real leadership conflicts, legal disputes, whistleblower cases and crisis situations — where the human dimension determines whether organizations hold or collapse.

The model was developed by Kirsten Heukels, a lawyer by training and an international mediator, profiler and crisis advisor by practice.

For more than 25 years, her work has taken place in environments where reputations, careers and sometimes entire organizations are at stake: executive conflicts, whistleblower cases, high-risk negotiations, and leadership under extreme pressure.

Across sectors, from global corporations and professional sports to public institutions, the same pattern kept repeating:

when people do not feel safe to speak, leaders lose alignment, and crises escalate faster than organizations can control.

This is where the Excellence Model was born.

Not as a theory. But as a system designed to protect people, strengthen leadership and keep organizations governable when pressure rises.

Today, this model forms the foundation of 1for2’s Centre of Excellence for People, Leadership & Crisis Resilience, bringing together Confidential Counseling, Leadership Development, Profiling and Crisis Governance into one integrated framework.

Because when moments truly matter, excellence is not optional.
