The Confidential Counselor

A Confidential Counselor provides independent, certified support for work-related concerns — from unwanted interactions to integrity issues. Dutch law requires employers to protect employees against psychosocial workload (Arbowet), to act as good employers (Burgerlijk Wetboek, art. 7:611), and to ensure equal treatment (AWGB).

Whistleblowing applies when issues involve serious misconduct with legal consequences — for example, large-scale fraud, corruption, or threats to public safety. If that is the case, we will guide you through the process as well. See our Whistle blowing page for more details.

Advise leadership

  • Independent advice to address structural issues and strengthen policy & practice.

Deploying an external Confidential Counselor who meets all requirements is invaluable for any organization. Our Counselors are officially trained, certified, and accredited by Hobéon SKO. They meet the strict standards of the National Association of Confidential Counselors (LVV). This guarantees the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed to support your organization effectively.

Since January 1, 2024, new national requirements apply:

  • A mandatory exam for basic training
  • Certification as a condition for LVV membership

These changes raise the quality and integrity of the profession. Certified external Counselors offer a safe space for employees, handle sensitive issues with care, and strengthen an ethical work culture.
